Rudolph Continues to Inspire

The Sarasota Tribune has an article titled "Color and Form" which mentions Sarasota architect Phil Skirball was inspired by Paul Rudolph's famous Milam Residence in designing the Sterling Park Office Building on Bee Ridge Road. The building, a two-story office park, shares the same block and concrete lintel system that Rudolph devised for his Milam Residence.

There are other buildings that have also been inspired by Rudolph's work, including a modern take of the Umbrella Residence, called the Solar Umbrella House built in Venice, California in 2005.

The original house built in Sarasota in 1953 is open for public tours through their website.

If you've seen or know of another project that resembles or was inspired by Paul Rudolph's work - let us know at information@paulrudolph.org . We'll put it in our blog and share with people the relevence Paul's work continues to have in the architectural community.
